Provide evidence if you're speaking against another player. This is not a venue for anonymous bashing just for the fun of it. Such comments will be deleted.
Anon is on, IP logging is off, and comments can be screened at request.
*Mainly because kostinaya is not an active mod anymore and I felt it's better to have a post that I could edit if necessary.

We're aware that it's the players who get punished first in such a case. If you've read the stickied rules post (the top one at Bakerstreet), we do warn about it.
The more players ask for specific rules, the more they are also going to suffer. We have been asked to delete memes that are too similar. When we delete them, there's always someone who's not happy about it.
Isn't it a little contradictory that you'd like TFLN to be posted later but at the same time, if we delete it when it's been posted "too early", you say we punish the players?
There's not much we can do to punish the memeposter because they can keep making new sock accounts. Not to mention there are several people posting memes, even TFLN. We are not going to moderate the posting queue just because of this one meme. It would not come to any good.
I'm really sorry I can't give you the answer you want.

(Anonymous) 2017-03-18 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)Yes I've read them time ago when I first joined the comm but I obviously forgot about that, since It's been a while. I should give them other look.
How is that contradictory? I've heard this complain from a number of other players, it's not jsut me who thinks the meme being posted at such early hours is becoming an issue.
Seems like there's just no way to find a solution at all in this kind of cases, at all. Oh well.

For meme deletion, sometimes it does matter when someone brings the issue up, and if any of us are able to deal with it in a timely manner. If it's a meme that has been up for a short time, and has nothing but top comments - deletion is much, much more likely. If it's gotten to the point where a lot of people are playing in the meme, there's a chance the meme won't be deleted.
Personally, I do try to c/p active threads and send those back to the players if I see any, but that's not something that's always feasible.
What I think Mod 1800 was getting at is that if a meme is posted too early → the expected consequence, and deleted. It could be reposted at a later date, though yes, those who have started threads in the early meme will loose their threads → A risk the players take, though some may be unaware.
Early here is taken with a grain of salt, as a meme posted on the day it's supposed to, despite it feeling like it's too soon wouldn't be deleted in the first place. Usually, when I say early, I mean a day ahead, something that is clearly early. (let me know if I'm being confusing)
As for the posting issue, it definitely something that we can actively solve as mods, not if we want to keep Bakerstreet posting the way it currently is.
A decent, workable solution depends a lot on the player community working together. However, I can put a reminder of the timezone the comm runs in, as well as a link to the world clock with the round up tonight (and subsequently) so that it's there as a resource?
